Lab Day

  • April 21, 2018
  • 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • Colonie Central High School, 1 Raider Blvd, Albany, NY 12205

“Lab Day” is an opportunity for STEM educators to share their most exciting laboratory based activities with their colleagues. The Capital Region Master Teachers, working in conjunction with STANYS, will offer workshops that combine hands-on with minds-on. The professional development offered by Lab Day has become even more important with New York State adopting their version of the Next Generation Science Standards. These standards place a heavy emphasis on inquiry or science practices. Actual laboratory experiences are the best way to acquire competency with these science practices.

Join the Master Teachers and STANYS as we share the best of these laboratory experiences and prepare for the future of science education in New York State. These workshops will carry CTLE credit. The event will feature a Keynote speaker, coffee and bagels in the morning, and a working lunch during the Tech-Slam event. Participants will receive an email regarding workshop choices as the date approaches.

Facilitator: NY State Master Teachers - Chemistry PLT

Fee: None. Sponsored by NY Master Teacher Program-Capital Region. Registration required.
