Future Mentor Teacher Meeting at Clarkson University

Clarkson University is looking for current teachers interested in hosting a pre-service teacher through their year long residency. 

Mentor training on full year residency assessment process

All meetings are at the Capital Region Campus of Clarkson University, 80 Nott Terrace, Schenectady, 12308, in room 306. RSVP to Kristin Kennedy at kkennedy@clarkson.edu. Teachers interested in mentoring must make an effort to attend all meetings.

    • Adult learning theory
    • Novice colleague relationship
    • Generational theory

April 19th, 2018, 4-5:30

  • Program details and mentor training
    • MAT Handbook
    • Evaluation Process
    • New York State Teacher Certification Exams
    • Mentor dispositions evaluation

May 9th, 2018, 4-5:30

  • Mentor training on full year residency assessment process

Participation in the meetings does not guarantee a resident will be placed in an individual's classroom. Placements are made by mutual agreement and on a student by student basis.
