  • 3:30 PM
  • Capital Region BOCES, 900 Watervliet Shaker Rd, Albany, NY 12205

Join science teachers from across the region in this great opportunity to grow our practice as we shift toward full NYSSLS implementation! Gain insights from each other in ways to integrate the cross-cutting concepts, science and engineering practices, and disciplinary core ideas seamlessly into your practice, develop 3-dimensional assessments, and more! Together we will answer questions related to:

Curriculum & Instruction

  • I've been teaching the same science curriculum for years...where do I start?
  • How can storylines and project-based learning make science meaningful and relevant to my students?
  • What resources are other teachers using for curriculum development?

Required Investigations

  • What do I need to know about the required science investigations?
  • How can I make the investigations a positive and successful learning experience for my students?
  • Where can we purchase the necessary supplies and equipment?

  • What information can we glean from the first ELS and ILS assessments?
  • How can I use the Performance Level Descriptions to create assessment tasks and provide feedback
  • Are resources available to help teachers develop 3-D assessments?

16 CTLE credit hours. For more information, please email Laura McDaniel -
